Egg Curry

I believe..most of you will agree..when I say..this would be the easiest non veg item on your dinner/lunch menu. When there is less time, I always prefer plain rice/roti/paratha with egg curry. Some time back, someone has asked  for the egg curry recipe..n I had promised to post;next time I cook.
So here it is.... (Also I forgot to click the ingredients pic,,only remember about posting it once it was ready to eat..)

U will Need: 1 egg, 1 medium potato, 2 medium onion, 1 large tomato, 3-4 peppercorns, 2 bay leaves, 2 carrdamom, 1 inch cinnamon stick, 2 tspn ginger-garlic paste, 1 tspn turmeric powder, 2-3 tspn kashmiri red chilli powder, 2 tspn garam-masala, salt, coriander leaves and oil

Boil the egg and potato. Peel the skin off. Cut potato in two halves. Make a slit in egg. Crush the peppercorns, cardamoms. Finely chop the onions and tomatoes separately.
Now, heat the pan. Fry egg n potatoes till golden brown. Remove them and keep aside on a tissue.Add Crushed peppercorns+cardamoms+cinnamon stick, bay leaves(broken into two halves).Add chopped onions. Saute till it turns golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste. Add all other spices. Mix it well. Saute for a minute. Add Chopped tomatoes. Saute for 4-5 minutes on medium flame. Add a cup of warm water to it. Bring it to a boil. Add  egg n potatoes. Add  Finely chopped coriander leaves. Saute it well. Cook with lid on for 3-4 minute on sim.
Serve with plain rice or chapati.

Tip of the Day: You may halves the egg also befor frying. I dont like it halves, hence make a cut. Chop the onion and tomatoes really fine.. The smaller they will be..tastier the masala..
Also,do not use coriander powder. It will altar the taste.

  1. I am a student living on my own. Earlier I used to eat outside but the food offered was not only very costly but also unhygienic. I have been trying my hand at cooking but I still suck at it. My mother always says that u need to be patient to be a good cook, a quality that I lack. Anyway,I really miss ghar ka khana. Keep posting more and more of these recipes, nothing fancy, just the stuff that we eat in homes on a daily basis. Keep up the good work.. :)
